Legal to rent out upstairs and down stairs

Hi all,



I just curious, I found a place that has divided the double story house... It has 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom at the bottom with kitchen. The same setup down stairs 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom... Is this legal? Insurance and council wise?



For insurance I would need 2 landlord policies right?
